On February 23rd 1918 the Red Army was founded and immediately began combating the forces of the Imperialist German Army and the Counter Revolutionary Whites. The Red Army distinguished itself in battle and proved able to answer Lenin’s call to battle and save the young Soviet Republic!
Great credit to organizing the Army is to be given to Leon Trotsky, who is unfortunately not given his due credit in Soviet History.
“To prepare a revolutionary army not with phrases and exclamations, but with organizational work, deed, building up a serious, popular, powerful army.”
Lenin
Vladimir Lenin’s “The Socialist Fatherland is in danger” the call to arms to form the Red Army.
